The Little Brewing Company moved into its Port Macquarie premises in December 2006. Husband and wife, Warwick and Kylie Little, launched beer onto the market place in July 2007.
Warwick started brewing at home many years ago. He’s always been a full mash brewer, which is the same process used in the brewery now. Warwick honed his craft over time, encouraged by industry personnel and excellent results in state and national amateur brewing championships on his first and only showings. A university degree in wine science and winery laboratory experience completed the picture before a passionate hobby became a vocation and business.
After starting the business, Warwick learned that he comes from a long line of brewers, publicans and licensed victuralists courtesy of his mother's English heritage. This association with beer, discovered by a cousin in England researching the family tree, can be traced back to the early 1700s until the sale of the family pub in England in the 1970s.
Before the brewery, Kylie’s professional career spanned some 30 years in PR and marketing although she maintains that the best job she’s ever had is pouring beers over a bar.
